One of the best Marvel series to come out of Disney+ is the time-traveling wild adventure show Lokiwhich takes place after the events of Avengers: Finale, and follows the God of Mischief into an alternate timeline as he is taken to the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA), a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline. And if fans thought Season 1 was great and original, they’re in for a treat in Season 2.

In a recent interview with ET, the actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw teased her return to the show as character Ravonna Renslayer, telling the outlet:
“It was great filming the second season of Loki,” says the actress, adding that fans of the series “will have a lot of fun because the show is more daring and surreal. And in many ways, it goes bigger and bolder than season 1, which is really exciting.”
After a season full of twists and turns, it was revealed that Ravonna is also a Variant, prompting her to leave the Time Variance Authority in search of agency. The actress, who was there to promote her recently released Apple thriller series, Surfacecontinuous:
“In LokiRavonna is a powerful presence,” Mbatha-Raw says, adding in season two, “selfishly, Renslayer exits TVA, which I’m really excited about.”
For Mbatha-Raw, it was also exciting to bounce between genres, “going from the Marvel universe to a psychological thriller like Surface,” she says.
“They’re such different characters in such different worlds,” the actress continues, noting how fun it was to go back to Loki – and what he hopes for is the same Surface season 2. “The thing I got with LokiThe second season of is everyone on the crew knows your character and I never have before, going into a set where people already know your character. I know Marvel will raise the bar with this series, which only plays in the most exciting and versatile playground in the Marvel Universe. Loki Season 2 is expected to arrive on Disney+ this summer. Are you excited about this upcoming season?
