King Charles and Queen Camilla arrive for Christmas Day church services

Merry Christmas, as the Royals would say! The royal family attended traditional church services on Christmas Day in the church of Santa María Magdalena. This was the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that the whole family had participated in the iconic tradition, and it was also the first Christmas break since Queen Elizabeth’s death.

King Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla, 75, had previously announced they would be spending Christmas at Sandringham, Queen Elizabeth’s beloved Norfolk country estate, in keeping with the family’s long standing tradition. The new king addressed the nation and solemnly remembered his late mother in a moving speech from St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. “Christmas is a particularly moving time for all of us who have lost loved ones,” he said. “We miss them in every familiar twist of the season and remember them in every beloved issue.”
