Henry Cavil to have ‘most heroic farewell’ as Geralt in ‘The Witcher’

Now, the showrunner of the Netflix series, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, assures that the actor’s farewell will take place with all possible honors, with a dignified farewell, before leaving the role of Geralt to Liam Hemsworth.

In a new interview for Entertainment Weekly, Lauren Hissrich spoke about Henry Cavill’s farewell to ‘The sorcerer’, and confirms the doubts that many fans had about the third season, which will be quite faithful to the books. Rumors that the writers and creative members of the Netflix series hated Andrzej Sapkowksi’s novels circulated a few weeks ago and have now been denied.

“Henry [Cavill] He has given a lot to the series and we want to honor him properly. What’s interesting is that Season 3, to me, is the closest thing we’ve ever come to a one-on-one adaptation of the books,” said the Netflix showrunner. In this way, Hissrich makes it clear that the departure of the protagonist due to creative differences on the departure from the source material, are excluded.

On how the actor will leave the series, he said: “Geralt’s big breakthrough is giving up his neutrality and doing whatever he has to do to get to Ciri. and for me it is the most heroic farewell we could have, even though it wasn’t written to be that way. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m really excited to enter the world of The Witcher”. Although there is no confirmed release date, “The Witcher” will be released in mid-2023.
