David Bisbal Responds to OT USA Winner Spoiler in Colombia

Spanish singer David Bisbal has acknowledged a major production error during the final broadcast of Operacion Triunfo USA in Colombia. The television blunder exposed the winner's name on screen moments before the official announcement took place.

An audience member present at the filming alerted Bisbal to the premature reveal before host proclamation. The month-long television experiment attempted to bring the Spanish talent format to Latin America, enlisting Bisbal as a headline judge.

Footage shared by an Instagram content creator captured the moment the artist noticed the uncovered result during the live broadcast. Bisbal subsequently confirmed the sequence of events in a public response to the clip.

Production error during live finale

Bisbal commented on the social media post to clarify how he discovered the leak. He stated that a young man in the crowd pointed out the visible display, leaving him completely stunned on set.

The veteran artist has spent 25 years in the music and television industries, making him deeply familiar with live broadcast timing. Viewers quickly reacted to his admission, with one user noting they had advised Bisbal against taking the judging role and remaining in Spain for the summer.

Despite the technical mistake, Bisbal enjoyed his time in the South American country alongside his family. He was accompanied throughout the production period by his wife and children, sharing moments from their personal travel album on social media.

Album announcement and stage return

The finale gala also featured a special musical performance by Bisbal. He took the stage to perform El amar y el querer, a classic ballad originally recorded by Mexican music icon Jose Jose.

The performance marked Bisbal's return to the Operacion Triunfo stage 25 years after launching his professional career on the original Spanish series. He used the appearance to showcase material from his upcoming studio project.

The song serves as an advance track from his forthcoming album Eternos. The new record is scheduled to arrive on digital music platforms on October 2, 2026.

Magnitude 7.4 earthquake in Bogota

Bisbal's production schedule coincided with a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Colombia, causing widespread destruction. Official reports confirm that the natural disaster has resulted in more than 110 fatalities across the country.

Following the final gala, Bisbal recorded a direct video message detailing his personal experience during the tremor. He explained that waking up to the powerful shaking in Bogota caused initial panic before the movement ceased after approximately one minute.

Protocol alarms sounded across neighboring buildings surrounding his accommodation in the capital. While Bogota avoided major structural failure, Bisbal warned that Cali and several interior provinces suffered severe damage.

Solidarity message and relief efforts

Before concluding his video address, Bisbal extended a message of sympathy to those impacted by the tragedy. He expressed heartfelt solidarity with the victims and stated that everyone remained deeply concerned for the affected communities.

The singer pledged to use his official social media accounts to share information regarding disaster relief and charitable donations. Bisbal has previously mobilized his digital platforms to assist humanitarian causes during past natural disasters.
