Danny Cipriani and AnnaLynne McCord married on Saturday in a low-key backyard ceremony in Los Angeles, with around 15 empty seats visible among roughly 60 guests after the couple had asked friends and family to help crowdfund their £10,000 wedding.
The former England rugby player, 38, and the American actress, 39, exchanged vows in the back garden of their home. Days before the wedding, AnnaLynne explained that the short notice of the Los Angeles ceremony meant many of Danny's family could not attend.
The wedding had sparked controversy last month after it emerged the couple were asking family and friends to fund their £10,000 bill themselves, through donations made via a website built on the Honeyfund platform. Guests were asked to give anywhere from £75 ($100) to £450 ($600) towards the cost of the day.
What the wedding wishlist included
Among the items requested was $125 towards music, and the ceremony featured a violinist and saxophonist. Other gifts purchased through the site included a $100 wedding certificate, $600 towards flowers and a $600 cake.
The Honeyfund page still lists further costs open to contributions, including $1,500 for photography, $1,750 for catering, $500 towards the rehearsal dinner and $4,800 in wedding construction costs. In total, the couple asked for £10,660, not including a separate section for cash donations.
The ceremony and outfits
For the ceremony, AnnaLynne wore a pastel, floral-embroidered gown with a cathedral-length veil and silver heels instead of a traditional ivory dress. Danny wore a dark suit with a matching shirt and no tie. The bridal party included 12 bridesmaids, each in mismatched blush pink dresses.
The couple are planning two further ceremonies, one in London and a "traditional celebration" in Cambodia.
AnnaLynne addresses the backlash
Just days before the wedding, AnnaLynne addressed the criticism over the crowdfunding, saying she had believed she had sent the wedding wishlist only to her own guest list, not realising the link had been made public.
She told The Sun: "I was told I was despicable and that I was trying to extort money from my wedding guests. People actually donated $10 towards the wedding so they could write on the site that Danny and I were disgusting. There were even death threats."
Insiders reportedly branded the move "tacky and distasteful" for "two celebrities who boast a lavish lifestyle." Danny is thought to have earned around £4 million during his rugby career, in which he played for Wasps, Sale Sharks, Gloucester, Bath and Melbourne Rebels, and won 16 caps for England. AnnaLynne is believed to have amassed a similar fortune after roles on Nip/Tuck and 90210 in the 2000s, with her most recent part in Days of Our Lives announced in 2023.
AnnaLynne said she set up the page after being inundated with questions from guests about gifts. "Everyone was asking what they could give us. I was like, I have five blenders. I have everything for my home," she said.
"We wrote on the wedding invite that in lieu of gifts we would love to feel our guests' contributions in the flowers, music and on our big day. I didn't know that it was an open link until a co-star at work asked me: 'Are you crowdfunding for your wedding?'"
Their on-off relationship
AnnaLynne and Danny first met on the celebrity dating app Raya around a decade ago, and the actress has described him as her "soulmate." They dated on and off for several years, split in 2020, reconnected in 2024, and separated again in January 2025.
The pair appeared to be back together last summer, sharing a kiss at an Emmy nomination party hosted by The McCord List in July 2025. That same month, Danny confirmed their reunion by sharing a picture of AnnaLynne on Instagram for her birthday, writing: "Happy birthday to My Love. Your light shines so bright, as you see the light in everyone you meet. You give your heart so effortlessly. You are creating a world of unity and love with your star dust everywhere you go. Love you."
According to People, AnnaLynne's engagement ring is a 15-carat, emerald-cut diamond with seven round accent diamonds set into the band on each side, all in yellow gold.
Danny's previous marriage
Danny previously met his ex-wife, Victoria Rose, in 2019, and the pair were engaged by August 2020. They married in a private ceremony on April 27, 2022. Victoria filed for divorce in August 2024, nine months after they split.
In an interview last year, Victoria said she felt blindsided by Danny when he announced their split on Instagram, leaving her, in her words, "with no explanation."
