Dane Bowers has revealed he is set to undergo a "very serious" back operation after struggling with constant pain. The former boyband star, who dated glamour model Katie Price in the late 1990s, said he will have to make some "life changes" after being booked in for a spinal fusion.
In a post on TikTok, Bowers told his followers he decided to get a second opinion from another surgeon after receiving his initial diagnosis. The former Celebrity Big Brother star said he needed to "basically have a fusion," a procedure in which two or more vertebrae are joined together using metal rods, cages or screws.

Bowers said he needs screws put into his discs, and will undergo a CT scan to determine whether any more bone needs to be removed. He said cancelling his operation with the other doctor was the right call, and that he was glad he sought a second opinion, adding that asking someone else for it was not something to feel embarrassed about, because it led him to the option he is now going with.
Life changes ahead
Bowers said his life would change "a little bit," but told his followers he hoped the surgery would finally get rid of the ache and pain he always has in his left leg and left foot. He said he currently finds it hard to sleep, and hoped things would be a lot better on the other side of the operation.

Earlier in the week, Bowers had asked his followers about getting a second opinion on his back surgery, after feeling "awkward" following his meeting with a surgeon. Bowers relocated to Dubai several years ago with his girlfriend Nicole, and works as a DJ and musician.
Appearance in Katie Price documentary
Bowers appears in ex-girlfriend Katie Price's new Sky documentary, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, in which he discusses their high-profile romance. In the documentary, made with Louis Theroux's Mindhouse production company, Price reignited her feud with Victoria Beckham as she reflected on being "banned" from visiting Bowers while he was on tour in the 2000s.

Price and Beckham fell out after Price and Bowers teamed up for their 2000 single "Out of Your Mind" with True Steppers and went on an intense promotional campaign together. Price had been dating Bowers for two years at the time.
Katie Price's account
Price said the relationship changed, as if Bowers had found something better, and that she felt like nothing because it was now all about Victoria. She said she was normally allowed to accompany Bowers on his work trips, but was not allowed on one particular trip, which left her in tears and wondering what had happened to the Dane she knew.
In a separate interview with Fabulous, Price said their relationship was perfect until Bowers worked with Beckham, adding that it made her feel like she wasn't enough and that Beckham had tried to set him up with a friend. Despite this, Price said Beckham had also bought her gifts, including a pair of pink fluffy shoes.
Price said she would not watch Beckham's Netflix documentary because she considers it manufactured, edited and boring, and said she had nothing to do with the edit of her own documentary and had been as honest as she could be. Speaking on Loose Women in 2016, Price admitted that after splitting from Bowers she had "stupidly" tried to win him back by taking pills and calling him for attention, describing it as a "young and naive" incident driven by her wrongly convincing herself Bowers had developed a crush on Beckham.
