Chisinau Airport Starts Free Shuttle From Revaca Station

Chisinau International Airport has launched a free pilot shuttle service from Revaca railway station for train passengers arriving in Moldova. The airport press service, known as AIC, announced the one-month test project aimed at reducing travel time through city traffic for transit passengers arriving from Ukraine.

According to the airport press service, Chisinau serves as a transit hub for many passengers traveling by train from Ukraine before flying to other destinations. Passengers can disembark at Revaca station every day at 10:20 a.m., following a seven to 10-minute train ride from the main Chisinau railway station. A free airport bus then carries passengers directly to the terminal in five minutes. Airport officials will evaluate the project after one month to determine whether to make the transfer service permanent.

Temporary gate canopies

The airport is also constructing temporary canopies near boarding gates to manage terminal overcrowding during the summer travel peak. Builders are erecting improvised hangars next to aircraft parking areas where passengers will wait to board apron buses. The structures will include lighting and air conditioning systems to improve waiting conditions.
