Singer Chappell Roan made a surprise stage appearance during Noah Kahan's sold-out concert at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old artist joined Kahan on stage to perform her track California as a special guest during the latest leg of his ongoing The Great Divide tour.

Before performing the duet together, Roan delivered a heartfelt shoutout to the 29-year-old musician, telling the crowd that Kahan has consistently supported her throughout her career.
Fan-taken video footage from the venue showed Kahan welcoming Roan onto the stage, where the two musicians shared a fist bump before speaking to the crowd.
"Noah always stands up for me, seriously," said Roan, whose full name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz. "He's a good person, for real."

Introducing the duet, Kahan expressed his admiration for Roan and revealed how her music impacted him when he first discovered it.
"This is the first song I ever heard of Kayleigh's," Kahan told the audience. "And the reason I fell in love with her music."
The Stick Season singer added: "I'm just really proud of her and thankful that she would come sing with me. So this is California."
The Rose Bowl Stadium, located in Pasadena, California, is one of North America's most historic sports and entertainment venues, holding over 90,000 spectators. Kahan has been headlining massive outdoor arenas on his sold-out The Great Divide tour following the success of his hit single Stick Season. Roan, who achieved breakout pop stardom in 2024, has similarly drawn enormous crowd turnouts across major American concert venues.
Hotel Incident in Brazil
Roan's guest appearance at Kahan's concert comes five months after she was accused of sending her security guard to confront Jude Law's 11-year-old daughter.
In March, Law's daughter Ada and her mother Catherine Harding claimed they were left in tears following an aggressive interaction with a security guard at a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Professional soccer star Jorginho Frello publicly criticized Roan on Instagram following the incident. He claimed the singer called the security guard on his stepdaughter after the child recognized the musician at the hotel.
Roan later issued a public apology via video, while denying that she had sent anyone to confront the child.

It later emerged that the bodyguard who approached Ada was not working for Roan and was actually looking after pop star Sabrina Carpenter.
However, the fallout from the altercation still saw Roan banned from performing at the Todo Mundo no Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro by the city's mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere.

Jude Law is an acclaimed English actor known for his roles in major Hollywood films and theatrical productions. Harding is a British singer and media personality, while her partner Jorginho Frello is an international soccer midfielder playing in top-tier European leagues. The Todo Mundo no Rio festival is an annual music event held in Rio de Janeiro, attracting prominent international recording artists.
Public Appearances and Stardom Concerns
Following the security scandal in March, Roan has maintained a low public profile. She was spotted attending the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, in April, but has otherwise limited her public appearances.

In the wake of the hotel incident, critics resurfaced an unrelated video clip showing how Roan previously dealt with fans in public settings.
The footage, recorded at Sydney Airport in Australia in February ahead of her appearance at the Laneway Festival, showed Roan signaling to her security guard after realizing she was being filmed from afar.
Roan briefly flicked her finger to point in the direction of the fan before falling in line behind her guard. The security guard, who had a very stern look on his face, pointed directly to the person behind the camera and appeared to call out as he strode towards them.
Since her rise to stardom in 2024, Roan has been outspoken about the pitfalls of fame, publicly rejecting the idea that she should accept unwanted attention.
She has had a sometimes contentious relationship with her fans, with the artist previously calling out behavior that she considered creepy and invasive in social media posts.
The Laneway Festival is an annual touring music festival held across Australia and New Zealand, showcasing alternative and indie pop music. The Coachella Music and Arts Festival, staged every spring in the California desert, is one of the world's premier live music events.
