Memphis rapper Big Scarr has reportedly died at the age of 22.
The musician – born Alexander Woods – was reported dead by The Shaderoom on Thursday and his death was confirmed by rapper Gucci Mane, to whose record label, Gucci Manes 1017 Records, he was signed to.
Scarr’s cause of death is currently unknown and there has been no confirmation from the police or local news.

“It hurts,” Gucci wrote under a carousel of photos with the Memphis native, adding, “Missing you @bigscarr.”
In one of Scarr’s most recent Instagram posts, he shared that he would be touring as part of his 2023 Glockoma Tour with Key Glock, who is also a Memphis rapper.
Key Glock took to Twitter and wrote: “This is s**t wicked wtf bruh!!!” along with a sad emoticon.

After the news began circulating online, Jamaican-American podcaster and YouTuber DJ Akademiks, 31, took to Twitter with a tribute, writing: “RIP Big Scarr.”
Scarr’s fellow 1017 labelmate Enchanting also appeared to confirm the news via her Instagram story.
“Ion wants to talk. I’m sorry if I don’t answer. I just can’t,” she posted, adding a sad emoji.

She also shared a photo of the rapper with the caption, “My babayy my best friend my son I love you forever and I’m sorry,” along with a sad emoji.
She followed up with a clip of the two embracing and wrote: “I would do anything to hug you one more time.”

Big Scarr was born on April 7, 2000 and grew up in the Magnolia community of South Memphis.
He started his rap career in 2019 when he released “Make a Play” which quickly became popular on YouTube.
Scarr was signed to Gucci Mane’s label in 2020.
He is best known for his mixtape titled Big Grim Reaper which was released in 2021 with a deluxe edition coming out next year.

The band charted at number 25 on the Billboard 200 and sold 22,000 copies in its first week.
His death comes after the murders of two other Memphis rappers, Young Dolph and Snootie Wild.
Young Dolph was killed in Memphis in November 2021, while Snootie Wild was shot in Houston in February.
