King Juan Carlos’ engagement ring to Corinna, under suspicion

The third podcast of Corina Larsentitled Envy: Queen Sofia, Saudi Arabia and a surprise proposal It arrived this Monday, accompanied by a surprising image. The photo of an imposing ring that depicts the King Juan Carlos he would have given Corinna to propose to her. A ring that, just because of the size of its main diamond, has left half the world speechless. The German wanted to distribute it through the producer of the podcast Project Brutal, the photo of this jewel so as not to leave to the imagination the ostentatious expense incurred by the emeritus king in committing to it. The experts have estimated the jewel on the basis of the above image – no one has held the jewel in their hands – at an amount of around one million euros.

The ring in question has as undisputed protagonist a octagonal emerald cut diamond of about ten carats. It is flanked on the sides by two triangular brilliants set with the platinum ring. A dream betrothal jewel, worthy of the fantasies of One Thousand and One Nights, which occupies an important place in the personal jewelery box of the German aristocrat, and hides a story with an important contradiction.

According to Corinna herself in the new episode of her podcast, it was a day in January 2009 that Felipe VI’s father decided to give him the ring. In the purest traditional style, Don Juan Carlos arranged a candle lit date The small house, the old El Pardo hunting lodge that became the home of the secretive couple during Corinna’s stay in Spain. She nicknamed this house with the aforementioned diminutive, which had been renovated to suit her, so that she would be as comfortable as possible with her son Alexandre, and also as close as possible to Her Majesty, whose official residence, along with Queen Sofía, was in the same fence, only ten kilometers away.

Candles and a romantic atmosphere in between, the emeritus King proposed to the woman with whom he had been in a relationship since 2004, the valuable jewel as a marriage proposal. Two months before, the monarch had traveled to formally ask Corinna for her father’s hand, to let her know his deep love for her. Always according to the German version in her story in the form of a podcast.

they wore five years of happy courtship and, in the protagonist’s words, they acted like a family. They had met during a hunting trip in La Mancha, specifically on the farm of La Garganta, in February 2004 and after months of telephone conversations, they had begun a relationship at the beginning of that summer. In this January 2009 in which Don Juan Carlos asked her for a union through a ring, it had been almost five years since their paths crossed and, nevertheless, a curious detail of the ring casts doubt on this version of events.

Inside the ring, if you look at it in detail, you will see an engraved date. 10-28-10. That is, the twenty-eighth of January two thousand and ten… One year after the date on which the delivery of the ring would have taken place. It wasn’t about the anniversary date or a memory of the past, it was a future date yet to come, a very unusual detail in an engagement ring.

This post-story date of Corinna’s request casts a significant doubt on her story given how odd it is for an engagement ring with that particularity to be given as a gift. Perhaps it was a later gift that had nothing to do with the request? Was it really a gift from King Juan Carlos? If so, why did he give her a ring with that date in 2010 and especially when and for what purpose did he give it to her?

This is the case, and with the seeming implausibility of the events in the air, with no more corroboration than that of the picture of the ring and the words of its owner, Corinna continues her story stating that that ring was mostly a symbolic gift as her marriage to the king is said to have destabilized the monarchy.
