The actor was simply not paid for the work done.
It turns out that even prestigious companies in Hollywood are capable of acting disgustingly. The famous actor Nicolas Cage fell victim to this attitude.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cage never received $100,000 from Lumiere Pictures for his 1995 drama Leaving Las Vegas.
The film’s director, Mike Figgis, was also left without compensation. Studio executives explained this by saying that his film was not making a profit. Although, judging by the available information, with a budget of $4 million, the fees in the United States were over 32 million.
For Cage, the role in this film became a milestone – before that he received his only “Oscar” in the “Best Actor” category.
