On Thursday, Zoey 101 actress Alexa Nikolas protested allegations of abuse by Nickelodeon executives outside the network’s Burbank headquarters.
Speaking to TMZ, the 30-year-old star explained why she and other protesters chose to demonstrate and why she felt the alleged abuse needed to be addressed.
When asked why he chose to protest, Nikolas replied, “He said he wanted to make Nick safe for kids, because from my personal experience working on Zoey 101, [I] I didn’t feel safe.
The protest comes just weeks after former Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy aired her memoir, Glad My Mother Is Dead, in which she claims she was abused during her time at Nickelodeon.

“After hearing so many different stories from different Nick stars, it seems like enough,” he said.
Nikolas told the outlet that he believes Nickelodeon executives can face the allegations, adding, “I think everybody qualifies if they really do the right things, but they didn’t even comment.”

The Walking Dead actress later said, “Jennette and we all deserve an apology,” citing McCurdy’s recently published memoir.
The artist said Nickelodeon executives would be able to remedy the situation if they “can take responsibility” for the alleged abuses of artist children.
“I want them to apologize to all the stars of Nick who have suffered in any way… I want them to take responsibility and say they’re sorry.”

Nikolas told TMZ that he was forced to drink by a minor during his time at Nickelodeon, and even claimed that he received unsolicited messages from an executive and was paid for his silence.
He also campaigns to get the stars to stop signing non-disclosure agreements in the future.
The artist said he had “no chance” of re-establishing his relationship with former co-star Jamie Lynn Spears and said he was “trying to continue” his days on the network.
