The Kings of Spain These days they enjoy their private holidays, the ones of which (almost) no one knows the destination and which for them represent the real rest days. With Felipe and Letizia are their two daughters, Eleanor and Sofia, who live the summer with the happiness of spending time together. The mere fact of doing it is something out of the ordinary and they appreciate that as the oldest in Wales goes to secondary school. Today they celebrate two months without breaking up, something that will change in less than ten days, when the princess heads back to the cold British land.

Leonor is expected to be back with her colleagues on August 26 and she won’t be back in Spain until the end of October, as she will be celebrating her birthday on the 31st of that month. Also around those dates, he will again chair the Princess of Asturias Awards – his own – in what is one of the events marked in red on the royal family calendar each year.

That will be the goodbyes the sisters will soon be saying, once the holidays with their parents are over, something that is expected to take place this Saturday, as the kings have an official agenda on the 21st. The two go down different paths, a situation they will experience again when they finish the studies they do. Once she’s caught the plane to the UK, Leonor will remember all the good times she had with Sofia this time: the laughs, the secrets, the plans together, the dinners with her parents. It’s been a good summer for them.

The heiress to the throne represents an important year in her life. The second year of the baccalaureate is always the springboard for pursuing higher studies and in it the professional future of every student begins to glimpse. The 18 are very close to her and it is still unclear when she will swear the Constitution to the General Courts, after the controversy it has caused when the date is known to coincide with the end of the government’s mandate.
