It’s not about gallons of blood on the screen.
The tenth part of “Saw” probably won’t have the same popularity as the first parts of the famous franchise. Moreover, there was every reason for their success.
The creators of “Saw” have promised to release a new part of the horror film on Halloween next year. The directors return Kevin Grothert, who directed the sixth and seventh parts.
In an interview with PopCornNews, film critic Oksana Agapova explained why the early installments of the franchise were iconic and indicative of the horror genre. According to her, some people like shocking cruelty.
“Evil lives forever, and it has its duration. For example, if we throw ourselves over and over into this system of the unknown, something dark, not even alien, it always distorts our imagination and also has a therapeutic effect. When you see something terrible in the cinema, people fixate on it, and after the movie you can exhale, the evil is over. And every time we go to horror movies, we always stimulate the part of the brain that is responsible for fear,” said the critic.
