The Television Academy has announced the award categories for the 74th Emmy Awards, which will air live on NBC from the Microsoft Theater on Monday, September 12, and for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2022. at the same venue on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, 4. September. The revised presentation will air September 10 on FXX.
There are no significant changes in the composition of the main television program, which, like last year, includes 25 categories. The only revisions for 2021 are Featured Sketch Series, which will replace Featured Variety (pre-recorded) and Featured Writing for Variety Special Series, which stands for Featured Writing for Variety Series as an alternative between the two categories.
As previously announced, the Creative Arts Emmys are returning to two ceremonies after being expanded to three last year.
