The plot of the movie is about Thor and villain Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale. Thor enlists the help of Valkyrie, Korg, and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster to fight Gorr.

The movie was directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed movies like Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and JOJO Rabbit (2019). The director also plays the character of Korg.

While the audience seems eager to flock to the theater to see the beloved character on the big screen, the critics seem less enthusiastic.

According to Variety, the movie isn’t exactly scary as a B+ Cinema Score right now, and it’s more appropriate.

However, most MCU movies, including the original Thor (2011) usually get an A or higher rating.

Deadline reports that Gusto Mix, an entertainment analytics company, has expressed some concerns about how critics and audiences will perceive the film.

“Energy levels and tone are rising, showing a positive trend as Thor’s chatter turns to pre-pandemic cynicism, acting, and MCU criticism,” the company said.

While some wonder if this is a comedy, others explain that this project has gone from superhero to Taika Waititi’s impromptu acting.

Variety’s chief film critic Owen Gleiberman also discussed the film and Taika’s direction, saying, “It’s the spirit of seeing that if you’re not making fun of a Marvel movie, you might be taking it more seriously than the audience.” ”

Despite mixed reviews, that didn’t stop Thor from taking the top spot at the box office.
