Love Island star Luca Bish has been criticized by angry fans over the way they think he treats Gemma Owen at the mansion, but his family has defended him on social media.
Luca Bish’s family has responded to claims that the Love Island star is “controlling” Gemma Owen.
The fishmonger has made it clear that he is absolutely in love with Michael Owen’s daughter, with whom he has been dating for days.
He also told Gemma that he was “obsessed” with her during a heated conversation on Monday night (June 28) and that he would never take his eyes off her if someone else entered the mansion.

Their relationship was upset by the drama on Monday after Gemma seemed to suggest that someone else might change their mind, before it was revealed that Ekin-Su had made up her words from a conversation with Dami Hope.

Fans of the show have previously claimed that Luca exhibited “controlling” and “needy” behavior towards Gemma.
But Luca’s family was quick to defend the idol on social media after the episode ended on Monday, underlining their pride in him in a lengthy statement.
They also dismissed claims that he was “controlling” the 19-year-old dressage rider.
They wrote: “We couldn’t be more proud of our son if we tried. It’s a real shame to see the stigma surrounding men being transparent with their emotions … expressed how interested he is in Gemma and runs into a control?

“He is THE funniest and most loving guy we know and we will always be proud to see how much his heart is on his sleeve. He promised us that he would be himself and not play any games, and he holds his word to him.

This isn’t the first time their romance has come to a halt, as Gemma initially told Luca she wanted to go easy on him before they got close.

But on Monday night, things escalated between the two after Luca confronted Gemma about the possibility of her turning her head if another of her kind entered the mansion.
He told her, “I’m obsessed with you. I’m not going to lie. My head is so into you right now and that’s it.
Gemma assured him that her feelings for him hadn’t changed, but she didn’t fully respond to his words.
