Jessika Power reveals ADHD diagnosis but says she can’t use medication

Married At First Sight star Jessika Power is the latest celebrity to go public with a diagnosis of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

In a conversation with the 30-year-old Laundress, it was revealed that she was diagnosed in her early 20s.

He said he was given “prescription drugs” to manage his symptoms, but “made me wonder who I was.”

The reality star revealed that she couldn’t take the meds as the change in her personality would be bad for her brand.

“I’m a brand now, I guess, and I realized people wouldn’t be interested if I didn’t tell them what the hyper Jess was thinking,” she said.

“They want the fun, always chirpy Jess but when I took the meds I fell apart. [and] Calm down,” he added.

The blonde bombshell has become one of the biggest stars in Australian reality since rising to fame with Married at First Sight in 2019.

Last week, feminist writer Clementine Ford came out with a diagnosis of ADHD.

In an emotional post on Instagram, the 40-year-old said she had been diagnosed with both ADHD and obsessive-compulsive disorder (obsessive-compulsive disorder) by a specialist psychiatrist.

“I also have a strong sense of pride. I’m proud that I’ve been able to achieve what I have despite the constant vortex in my head. I have no doubt that many of the things I’ve done were the result of that whirlwind,” he wrote.

Clementine also explained that the diagnosis gave her more insight into her own behavior throughout her life.

The bestselling author went on to say that he was proud of himself for the many achievements he had achieved in life while he was a neurodivergent.

Clementine’s diagnosis follows a host of other stars who have come forward to boldly share their neurodivergence experiences over the past few months.

ADHD is a mental illness with symptoms such as difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the adult condition is treated in the same way as ADHD in children, with medication and counseling.

“All my fear is the feeling of being behind something all the time – you know, like on vacation and you really think you forgot something important? It’s always my feeling,” Abbie said.

In an Instagram video describing her symptoms, Abbie said she “can’t get much sleep” due to her constant stream of thoughts and often forgets where things are. You are also going through periods of ‘hyperactivity’.

Talking about the dating process, Abbie explained that she had paid her personal assistant to spend all day finding a date.
