The 51-year-old recently reprized the role of Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars in the new Disney+ series, and said he gasped every time he saw footage of himself and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader actor Hayden Christensen.

The two actors appeared as friends and then mentors in the two Star Wars prequels (2002-2005) before reuniting for the 2021 series.
But Ewan, who welcomed his son Laurie with his 36-year-old wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, last year, said he once knew what it was like to be a passionate fan while affiliated with Oasis.
He joked: ‘I was twenty but I was like a 14-year-old fan. It was a little embarrassing.

The actor went on to say that he was constantly bombarded with requests to reprise Obi-Wan Kenobi’s iconic role before leaving social media.
“Irvine Welsh wrote a Trainspotting sequel called Porno. And everyone asked me if I wanted it and they immediately said, “Well, Obi-Wan Kenobi, will you play it again?”
“So I did some social media – I don’t do it anymore – but I kept seeing this question, would you do it again? Will you do it again?’
The Happy Couple: Ewan, who welcomed son Laurie with his wife, 36-year-old Mary Elizabeth Winstead (pictured in March) last year, said he knows what it’s like to be a passionate fan.
The Doctor Sleep star insisted that she only did her best when she had a “burning need” to play the role.
He said: “If I did something for that part in that movie that didn’t come from the fervent need to act, it was never my best work. It’s not because I didn’t try harder or try hard enough.
‘There is something magical about it: the need to do something. When you read something and say “It should be me”.

Speaking of how your relationship is fame has changed over the years, he said: “I don’t feel like that guy anymore. I don’t have the same relationship with my fame.’
‘It has to do with age and experience and also knowing what works and what doesn’t.
“There was a hedonistic side to my life back then that ultimately didn’t fit the rest of my life.”
Ewan is also the father of his ex-wife Eve, 20-year-old Esther Jamyan, 19-year-old Clara, and 10-year-old Anouk.
The couple, who separated in 2017 after 22 years of marriage, decided to divorce in August 2020.
