According to Forbes, the total costs of Akolit were $ 230.8 million. At the same time, Forbes explains: this is an almost complete budget of the show, only “minimum costs” are still taken into account.
The first alarm signals even appeared in the production phase: according to Forbes, initially, the project was submitted in the plan for expenses before the start of filming, but hardly the deserved cameras, the costs went further than the intended. By September 2023 – and this was even before the completion of the post -production – it was clear that the series was shot with an overlooked.
However, the Disney Corporation was able to return part of the costs at the expense of tax benefits: the shooting took place in the UK and the studio managed to get $ 43.8 million of the return. The total amount that Disney really spent was $ 187 million – but even it looks like a huge risk for a project that the public could not hold.
Despite the status of the second most popular release of Disney+ in 2024, Acolite was canceled after the first season because of the low view, the fact that the final left the audience on a serious Cliffhenger. In Kinopoisk, the series is a record low rating – failure 5.0 out of 10.
It is interesting that the actor Manny Hasinto (the performer of the role of a mysterious Sith named Wanderer) does not lose hope of appearing in this universe again.
