Fans of De Witcher have long been waiting for an honest answer to the most important issue of recent years – why Henry Cavill decided to leave the cult series after three seasons.
Now the makers of the project have finally thrown lightly on the backstage of these events, which confirms many guesses from the public.
Showranner “Witcher” Lauren Schmidt Hissic Openly said openly that the decision to give up Cavill was mutual and quite logical for both parties. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she explained:
“Henry had plans for other projects that he really wanted to devote. We did not want to keep a person and force him to do what he did not want. That’s why this was a really mutual decision.”
Remember that the third season will be the last for Cavill in the statue of Geralt from Rivia, it became known in 2022. Then it was announced that the role of De Witte Wolf would go to Liam Hemsworth, known to the audience in the “Hungry Games”. Henry Cavill himself wrote in a farewell statement:
“My journey in the role of Geralt was filled with monsters and adventures, but unfortunately it was time to place the medallion and the swords after the third season … I pass the baton with gratitude in this way and with interest I wait for Liam to tackle this unique, versatile character.”
The fourth season promises not only the new interpretation of Geralt, but also the addition in the cast: the star of the “Matrix” Lawrence Fishburn joined the project. The makers promise the penultimate season that is rich in events and the action, which will continue the story after the large scales of the final of the third.
According to the official Sinopsis, Yennifer and Ciri are waiting for new trials in the new season of Geralt: the heroes are spread over the continent by the war and are confronted with countless dangers. But if they succeed in gathering others and accepting their roles, they get the chance to survive and they can meet again.
The premiere of the fourth season “The Witcher” takes place on Netflix on October 30.
