The second season of the Shogun is officially at work, but good news for fans end this.

Why so long?
Historically, the Shogun was conceived as a mini series according to the novel of the same name by James Clavell. The first season was recorded from September 2021 to June 2022, and it was only released in February 2024. Now, with the start of work on the new season only in 2026, the premiere for 2027 looks almost impossible. The peculiarity of the second season – he goes completely further than the framework of Klawell’s novel: The Scriptwriters, according to Showranner Justin Marx, completed work on all ten episodes in February 2025. The final of the season has already been written, but now the whole story is being built without a literary basis.
The continuation takes place ten years after the final of the first season. Hyroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis will return to their roles. The composition will be supplemented with new heroes – the details are still kept secret, especially in view of the fact that many characters of the first season died in the final. There is no question of the return of Anna Savai (Mariko).
Waiting for the date
Although there are no release data – even approximately, and 2026 will disappear exactly. According to Justin Marx, the team has much less time for production than in the first season, so the pace will have to be accelerated.
