A story that fans have been waiting for ten years.
Fans of the first season of the “Real Detective” got a reason for Joy: the maker of the Nick Pizzoratto series admitted that he has the idea of a story that the Cult Heroes could give back – Cowl and Marty Hart, played by Matthew McConahi and Woody Harrelson. He spoke about his plan in the podcast “nothing remained onaid”.
According to Pizzolatto, the concept has been in its head so far, but there were already discussions with the actors and both are positive.
“We talked about collecting and doing it again, and I think the boys are not against it,” showed show grant, adding that the question was only if it ever happened.
The first season of the Real Detective (2014) is considered successful as the best in the history of the series, and the McConah and Harrelson competition brought them the Emmy Award nomination.
Even McConah himself called his beloved and “one of the biggest events in television”, remembering how he waited for new series on Sunday and discussed the next day. Pizzolatto and actors ultimately maintained friendly relationships – so reunion is really possible.
Fail after the first season
Pizzolatto returned to work in the second season, but the story of Rachel Macadams, Colin Farrell and Vince Won was met by critics Koel. The third season with Mahershal Ali in the title role turned out to be only a little more successful, and in the fourth – “A Real Detective: The Country of the Night” with Jodie Foster – Pizzolatto no longer participated. This part was set by the screenwriter and director Issa Lopez.
Pizzolatto himself explained his departure with fatigue due to gloomy material and changes in his personal life. At the end of 2019 he terminated the contract with HBO and in 2020 he received a complete custody of his daughter, so he decided to concentrate on the family. At the same time, the screenwriter clearly did not find season 4 – he repeatedly put him in social networks, not embarrassed in expressions.
HBO is already working on the fifth season of the “Real Detective” with Issa Lopez as a show grant.
