Producer and director John Wells said that the new series will be released on January 8, 2026 – exactly one year after the start of the first season. Remember that the premiere of the show took place on January 9, 2025.
Why just wait a year
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wells noted that he deliberately tried to schedule an annual schedule of seasons – and his arguments should be welcomed (the fans of the Pitt Hospital were really lucky with the producer).
“How can I hold a fandom if I don’t know what was two and a half months ago? We return to the air on almost the same day as last year – January 8, 365 days later.”
In addition, Wells trampled the serialized colleagues, who have been increasingly being put into production: as a result, new seasons are released two to three years after the first.
“With all due respect for colleagues, there is no reason why the series cannot be released every year. If the conveyor belt of the production of the series was pressure, you could write off delays, but now such breaks become too noticeable,” Wells explained.
The director also commented on the departure of actress Tracy iPhicor, who is the role of Dr. Collins played. According to him, the decision is related to the realism of the plot:
“The action of the series unfolds in a training hospital. If you are in the fourth year of residence, you will end up in the hospital at the end of this year. I don’t want to scare the rest of the participants, but people do not stay in such places forever. This is a natural rotation, and it will be part of the evolution of the show.”
