Years later, rumors and hope for the fans, the office still receives a continuation side it was not in the form that they were waiting.
The new spin-off called The Paper Starts on September 4, 2025 at the Peacck Streaming. On the day of the premiere, four episodes will be displayed at the same time, and then two episodes will be released every Thursday to 25 September. The entire season comes over in one month – and this already raises questions, even among dedicated fans of the original.
According to the Plot, the film team, which previously shot the Dunderin Office in Squranton, is looking for a new object for his “documentary” series and finds the old dying newspaper somewhere in Ohio’s outback. The main character – the publisher performed by Domnall Gleason – tries to live an almost forgotten edition. Greg Daniels (the maker of the American office) and Michael Team (“Handy tips from John Wilson”, “Naitan is in a hurry”) are directors and showcans.

Against the background of a great interest in the series, Peacock chose a rather concise release format:
- Premiere: 4 September (4 episodes at the same time)
- Next: 2 episodes every week
- Final: 25 September
In other words, the series does not receive time to crochet the public and become the subject of discussion. All eight episodes are shown in four weeks and if the public is not called in of the first episodes, the series will simply pass.
Without breaks between the series there will be no intrigues nor the effect of “Discuss the next day with colleagues”, who once made an “office” so cult. For the brainchild of Greg Daniels it looks like a hasty movement.
However, the project has every chance to photograph. Gleeson is already compared to the early Steve Karell, and the idea itself to transfer the patented mockism from the office to the endangered regional media people at least fresh. Moreover, Daniels already had experience: in 2005 it was with the six episodes of the American ‘office’ that started his path to classics.
So perhaps the rate on the accelerated schedule is not a mistake, but a fully conscious risk. But the fact that fans are concerned about the fate of the “newspaper” is now understandable. All too high the bar of everything that the name “office” is glued to.
