Country musician Toby Keith, 60, has announced that he has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.

The country music star, whose hits include Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, made the announcement in an Instagram post on Sunday, June 12.

The I Love This Bar singer is undergoing treatment and chemotherapy and has assured fans that he is fine.

Keith gave a health update to his fans, who enjoyed his performances on his latest tour following the release of his new album Weight in My Pocket.

Sharing the announcement on Instagram, the country star began: “I was diagnosed with stomach cancer last fall. I’ve spent the last six months undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.”

“So far so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax.”

He added: “I really want to spend this time with my family.

“But I will see the fans as soon as possible. I can not wait.

Fans and fans, including famous faces, were quick to send their best wishes to the musician.

American TV star Taylor Cusack wrote, “Praying for you”, while actor Chris Thunder wrote, “Praying massively for you,” followed by a praying black heart emoji.

Long before his diagnosis, Keith was known as an avid supporter of cancer charities.

The Toby Keith Foundation, founded in 2006, provides support for children battling cancer.
