Apple TV+ officially extensive “slow horses” in the seventh season – and against the background of the rest of the streaming this is almost a record.
The new episodes will return Gary Oldman in the image of the most sloppy and most charismatic spy of British television. However, there is one nuance: the story is approaching its logical conclusion – and more and more rumors are sounding that this can be one of the last seasons.
The seventh season will be based on the novel “Bad Actors” – the eighth book in the Spy series Mika Herron. According to the plot, a team of poorly motivated agents will be in the center of a large political mess again: this time someone replaces his boss and in the meantime a Russian intelligence officer quietly comes to London. Of course everything goes wrong – and as usual it is the “horses” that make it worse.

The project is already called the longest and most successful Apple TV+series. Behind him:
- 4 fully released season, all – with a “fresh” rating on rotten tomatoes
- 9 nominations for Emmy during the third season, including the victory for the best script
- The fifth season will be released in September 2025
- Sixth – in production
- Seventh – already officially confirmed
In the lead role, of course, Gary Oldman of course again. His Jackson Lamb is a rude, ulcerative and at the same time brilliant head of the forgotten MI-5 unit, where all guilty agents are sent. It is connected to the main paradox of the series: a hero to whom nobody would actually say is the only one who is able to unravel a catastrophe – albeit not without destruction.
Against the background of the general stagnation of the espionage thriller genre, slow horses remain a rare exception – the series in which the plot works and the dialogues do not irritate, and the actors play and do not serve their duty on the set. Expansion for the seventh season is an opportunity to rejoice. But, given the pace of adjustments, the logic suggests: the final is no longer around the corner.
