Nowadays it is difficult to imagine that once fasting and the furious was only a movie on street races, and not a superhero on wheels with chases on glaciers and cars in the room. But in 2001 everything was different.
And it turned out that the franchise was almost the wrong way – literally. The first film had an alternative end that was recorded, but not included in the final installation. And apparently this was one of the best solutions in the history of the entire series.
In the alternative version of the final called the “Move” of the character of Paul Waker – Brian – they are fired from the police, but not arrested. He comes to Mia (Jordan Bryster) to discuss their relationship, and not the fate of Toretto’s house. Instead of drama and flights, a conversation about feelings and hope for reconciliation. The last scene is Los Angeles Panoramas and Brian’s aimless in the frame. Where the heroes should continue – nobody really explained, but one thing is clear: such an end would cross everything that appeared in sequel.

For clarity – that would have changed if this final would reach the cinemas:
- Brian is not becoming a fugitive. So there would be no arc in the “double frying”, where he hides in Miami and cooperates with the FBI.
- Mia would stay in the frame. And this is a completely different dynamic: their relationship would continue from the very beginning and not only resume in the fourth film.
- There would be no novel and Teda. The characters played by Tyrism Gibson and Ludakris would not be introduced in the second film, and the entire “family” would look different.
- The franchise would remain room. Without a conflict and breaking with the police, Brian would not become an outsider and the plot – worldwide.
As a result, the studio left the final in which Brian releases at home, lets him escape, and he will remain with an indefinite future. In a mini-ad, to the second film, he is already outside of law and goes to the east coast. Yes, he left Mia, but this is what the franchise allowed to become what she eventually became – with the new cast, international missions and more crazy stunt tricks.
