Whether the remake will be better than the original – the question is controversial. But marketing has already done his.
The new “running person”, set by Edgar Wright (“Type Lygovy”, “Baby on the Drive”), was just taken over by the first teaser and while fans, while fans firmly dismantled it in search of references and Easter boxes, slid a moment away from the majority of the audience. But the internet noticed as usual.
On one of the frames is a close -up of an account on which none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger is recognized. Yes, the same. In a suit, with a serious expression on his face, as if his character became the president of the universe of a “running person”. Camo is clearly comical, but the fans already saw him as the blessing of Arnie himself: they say, if he “returned”, then the remake is not entirely hopeless.

The original film with Schwarzenegger was released in 1987 and only seemed remotely on Stephen King’s book with the same name. The new option seems to promise to be closer to the source, although so far you can only see that the action has been transferred to the next anti-Utopian world with a reality show, Mortal Hunting and a drama about a single father who participates in the show because of a sick daughter.
Schwarzenegger himself, by the way, a few weeks ago in an interview admitted that he followed the project with interest. According to him, the original could have been better – there was not enough budget and technology. And now he hopes that Wright will be able to bring the idea to mind.
The most important role in the remake is played by Glen Powell (“Top Gan: Maverik”), the company consists of Josh Bron, Lee Pace, William Mashi, Michael Sera and others. The output is planned for November 2025.
