Phillip Schofield returns to host the British Soap Awards once again and to celebrate the occasion, he retraced some of the most embarrassing moments.
The British Soap Awards return to TV screens tonight (June 11) after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
TV star Phillip Schofield will be on hand to liven up the evening with glitz and glamor.
The ceremony recognizes the year’s highlights from Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Emmerdale and Doctors, with award-winning gongs by categories including best British soap opera and stage of the year.
Get ready to celebrate 12 gigantic months in a soap opera, remembering mystery, reconciliations, breakups, trials, tribulations and tears.
There are 14 prizes voted by the public or by a jury of experts.
As the stars prepare for their night out, think back to some of the most awkward awards ceremony moments throughout the year.
Philip Schofield versus Danny Dyer

Eastenders actor Danny prepared to introduce Phillip at the first live awards show in 2018.
In what would have been a pre-planned moment, This Morning Phillip host asked the Mick Carter actor if he was “okay.”
Danny, visibly furious, replied, “Yeah, okay, what do you want to do with me?”
After Phillip confirmed that he was checking Danny for “good”, the soap opera star replied, “I’m adorable, yes, beautiful.”
Phillip later admitted that Danny “scared him”.
He went on to deliver the next award, but Danny got up from his seat to face the presenter.
“Forget it, get out of here. Sit down, I’m in charge here, man,” Phillip yelled at the end of the skit.
Danny Dyer versus Phillip Schofield again

A year after his first awkward moment, Danny seemed anything but impressed when he became the butt of Phillip’s prank.
In 2019, the soap opera star didn’t smile when the ITV star teased him after making jokes about other soap opera stars.
Phillip quickly walked over to Danny, who froze when his name was mentioned.
After speaking to Corrie’s icon Jack P Shepherd about her character David Platt Trim Up North’s hairdresser, Phil said, “We were also joined by EastEnders’ Danny Dyer, who was told he was a great Trim Down South fans. “
After playing the prank, he tried to get an answer from the soap opera star, saying, “Right, Danny?”
When the actor didn’t respond, Phillip laughed in embarrassment as Danny turned to the person sitting next to him, ignoring the presenter.
Helen Worth’s speech interrupted

Coronation Street managed to win the Best Soap award for the first time in five years in 2018.
Gail Platt actress Helen Worth went to the microphone to discuss the ITV soap opera’s big win, but things didn’t go smoothly.
The TV legend only had 30 seconds to deliver a speech after speeches from other guests caused the ceremony to overflow.
This upset several fans, who voiced their frustration on Twitter at the time.
Row of accents by Michelle Collins

EastEnders and Coronation Street star Michelle Collins didn’t enjoy herself after being criticized for her Nordic accent.
During part of the ceremony seven years ago, The Chase host Bradley Walsh joked, “I wonder if there’s an award for the best accent?”
However, Michelle didn’t seem too happy for him to bring attention to the matter, reportedly replying, “Boring now!”
Jacqueline Jossa comments on self-harm controversy

In 2018, Jacqueline Jossa was forced to defend herself after she was caught claiming that rival Hollyoaks was “talking about self-harm”.
The Lauren Branning actress sat next to co-star Lacey Turner at the ceremony where the Channel 4 soap opera won Best Story for Lily Drinkwell’s Self-Hurting Story.
The camera then turned to Jacqueline, who seemed to be saying, “There’s always self-harm on this show.”
She was criticized for the Twitter comments, but the I’m A Celebrity winner later took to Twitter to explain the background.
Posting to Instagram, the actress said, “Just to set the record straight, Lacey asked me what the story was because we couldn’t hear.
