The Office reboot made a huge mistake before it even hit theaters.

The Australian version of the cult series won’t be all that different from the American one, but that’s not all that good news.

It would be strange to expect a reboot to feature completely new ideas and characters, but things are a little different for the Australian version of “The Office.” The upcoming series will actually be a reboot of a reboot—the now iconic American version of the show starring Steve Carell wasn’t entirely remade either, but based on the already existing British “The Office.”

And while the American series features all the same footage, it’s already noticeably different from the upcoming Australian show – and it looks like fans will come to appreciate the American ‘Office’ even more.

The Office reboot made a huge mistake before it even hit theaters.

Considering all the details of the series and its remakes, it is logical to assume that all the characters will be based in one way or another on the main characters of the original, British ‘Office’ – and the American version went with a bang, not only copying the main character traits of the characters, but also giving the latter the opportunity to show a different side of yourself and show your own unique qualities.

Australia’s ‘The Office’, in turn, is still far from its premiere, but has already shown its first trailer – and it also did not make a great impression on fans of the famous story.

For example, in a short video that gives a first look at the company’s new take on office life, a new character, Lizzie, appears, who represents an absolutely identical, but now female, version of Dwight Schrute from the American ‘Office’.

And while the idea of a remake is to bring characters to the screen that at least somewhat resemble the originals, it’s unlikely that fans would appreciate such a “carbon copy,” in which case the new show could offer a fresh take on everyone’s favorite story.
