Another example of King’s not so successful film sequel was the second part of Carrie. If the first film is still one of the best film adaptations of Stephen King’s work, then the sequel, released in 1999, was met with enormous criticism, and the ratings clearly bear this out: the 1976 film received a rating of 7.2, while the sequel received a score of 7.2. modest 5.2.
