The first season of “Wednesday” was released on Netflix in 2022, so fans are already starting to lose patience waiting for the return of Jenna Ortega’s character.
Due to the actress’s incredible popularity, the filming of the second season had to be postponed for almost a year – Ortega was busy with the projects Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Scream 6.
Luckily for Addams Family fans, filming for season two already began on Wednesday, and while Netflix hasn’t revealed an estimated release date for the sequel, screenwriter Alfred Gow was still able to please fans.
One of the show’s creators recently revealed that he and Tim Burton are considering a possible third season on Wednesday. Gow noted that there are no concrete plans for a sequel to the series yet, but some of the storylines in the upcoming season certainly point to a possible third installment.
“As the season progresses, certain things come up and we realize, ‘Oh, this is an interesting story’ or ‘This is something,’ and then that could lead us to a third season.” said Gou.
Wednesday’s first season became one of the biggest hits in Netflix history — the platform’s producers can’t wait to turn Tim Burton’s show into a proper franchise. They’ll certainly support Gou’s plans for a third season if the writer comes up with a decent story.
In Russia, Wednesday is surprisingly popular. The detective show about Wednesday Addams was appreciated by almost 500,000 Kinopoisk users, who gave the project excellent ratings 8.0 points.
