Netflix has revealed the biggest secret of Bridgerton season 4: who will play Benedict’s lover

The third season of “Bridgerton” ended only a few months ago and fans are already eagerly awaiting the release of the fourth part, which will feature Benedict and his mysterious lover Sophie.

Following the plot of the original books, Benedict finally meets the love of his life and wants to settle down. Benedict and Sophie meet at a masked ball, and the second-eldest Bridgerton falls instantly in love with the mysterious girl.

But Sophie also has her own secrets: she does not belong to a noble family and works as a simple servant for a cruel nobleman.

Fans of the romantic series have been debating which actress will play Benedict’s future wife for years, so Netflix producers decided not to torment fans of the show for a few more years.

Yesterday it was officially announced that Korean-Australian actress Yerin Ha has signed on to play Sophie in the fourth season of Bridgerton.

The promising actress only started her career two years ago, but Hollywood has already noticed her: she played a supporting role in the Halo series and managed to play a leading role in the upcoming HBO series Dune: The Prophecy.

In the original Julia Queen book, Sophie’s last name was Beckett. The show’s writers decided to change the classic English surname to the Korean Baek to better reflect the actress’ ethnic roots.

“Changing my last name is a great way to say that the role suits me and that I don’t have to fit a certain image. It’s amazing how changing your last name can help you get a better feel for the psychology of a character. I’m very grateful that the writers helped me so much,” – said Ha.

Ha and Luke Thompson have already begun dance rehearsals ahead of filming for the fourth season, which isn’t due out until late 2025.
