Disney wants to keep the film in theaters as long as possible.
On July 26, 2024, Deadpool and Wolverine hit theaters, the only MCU film this year. The comedy blockbuster starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman exceeded all expectations and was received 95% “fresh” from Rotten Tomatoes users and almost collected $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office.
The Deadpool threequel became the first MCU film since Avengers: Endgame to cross the border 1 billion dollars.
And Kevin Feige wants the blockbuster to stay in theaters for as long as possible — some analysts believe Deadpool and Wolverine could very well collide 1.5 billion in the coming weeks.

The furor over the new Deadpool film is hurting some fans of the superhero, however. Not everyone wants to go see the movies in theaters, but due to the blockbuster’s immense popularity, Disney+ has yet to announce a release date for streaming it. This is confusing for MCU fans who are used to watching movies in the comfort of their own home.
To reassure fans, we decided to calculate the exact release date of Deadpool and Wolverine.
All recent Marvel movies have been released on streaming roughly three months after their theatrical release. Assuming Feige uses the same tactics for Deadpool and Wolverine, we can confidently say the hit about the fast-talking mercenary is coming to Disney+ October 23, 2024.
The wait isn’t too long!
At the same time, the popularity of Deadpool and Wolverine in theaters could force adjustments to the project’s streaming release. If the film continues to gross tens of millions of dollars per week, Disney executives may push its release back to December of this year.
