Just a little bit more, and even “Spider-Man” will move.
It’s not that audiences are excited about Pixar sequels.
In its time, Cars 2 was a disappointment, Monsters University was a mixed bag, and Toy Story 5 simply feels redundant.
The sequel to Inside Out, however, did what sequels are all about: improving the story.
At the center of the plot was the adult Riley, entering the most difficult phase of growing up: adolescence. With new challenges and fears, the team of emotions was supplemented with charismatic newcomers.
And, judging by the collections, they did not leave teenagers and their parents indifferent.

The cartoon entered the top 10 highest-grossing projects of all time, displacing previously invincible giants ‘The Avengers’ in 2012 and ‘The Lion King’ in 2019.
To date, Kelsey Mann’s film has earned $1.67 billion at the global box office, breaking the record of rivals who have held their positions for several years.
Although audience response was positive, the film was not without some controversy.
“Sure, the sequel wasn’t as good as the original, but you have to admit, the numbers don’t lie: people are still watching Inside Out 2 because the kids who saw the first one have grown up,” concluded one reviewer.

The animated hit reached 9th place in the rankings:
- “Avatar”
- “Avengers: Endgame”
- “Avatar: The Way of Water”
- “Titanic”
- “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
- “Avengers: Infinity War”
- “Spider-Man: No Way Home”
- “Jurassic World”
- “Puzzle 2”
- “The Lion King”
It’s just $4 million less to leave Jurassic World behind and open the door for direct competition with Spider-Man: No Way Home.
