I had to spend more.
A new version of the cult film “The Raven” was recently released worldwide.
The project starring Bill Skarsgård, FKA Twigs and Danny Huston is about a musician who rose from the dead to take revenge on his perpetrators for the murder of his lover.
Loyal fans of the 1994 film adaptation were wary of the remake, given the tragedy that unfolded on the set.
In response, the director assured the audience that his version differed from the “original,” especially in one important aspect: the use of firearms was prohibited on the set.

Let us remind you that Brandon Lee, who played Eric Draven in the past, died as a result of an accident: the prop specialists did not notice a plug in the revolver, which, when fired, pierced the actor’s stomach and hit the spine.
“Safety is priority number one. On my first day on the job I met with the special effects department and the gunsmith. They were great and adhered to the same principles as the military when dealing with weapons,” said Rupert Sanders.
Instead of pistols, rifles and other weapons, rubber and metal bait and tightball equipment were used.
This decision cost the director dearly, as the film was shot on a limited budget of $50 million, and he had to be very careful with spending.
Although the precautions paid off, reactions to the film were mixed.

The first criticism came after the promotional material.
On the one hand, many did not like the design of the characters and the change in style, but at the same time, the shift in focus from revenge to the relationship of the main couple made the story more independent.
Hence the score of 6 out of 10 on Kinopoisk.
