And those aren’t all the pleasant surprises.
Production on Night Agent season 2 is well underway, showrunner Sean Ryan has confirmed.
In an interview with TVLine, he said that the editing of 10 episodes has already been completed. The production team is currently working on visual effects and sound design, which will bring the series back to the screens much sooner than expected.
A release date has not yet been announced, but all indications are late 2024 or early 2025.
This assumption is confirmed by the words of Netflix co-chairman Ted Sarandos, who claims that the show could be released alongside the sequel to “The Squid Game.”
While it would be counterintuitive for a streaming service to release two successful projects in the same week, it might make sense from a financial standpoint to schedule them a month or two apart.

“Night Agent” was a simple yet fun action film that was perfect for a night out.
From January to June 2023, it became the most viewed project on the platform with 812 million hours watched.
All thanks to a self-contained story with a clear beginning, middle and end, engaging characters played by Gabriel Basso and Luciana Buchanan, and a central plot mystery that isn’t revealed until the credits roll.
The basis for the first season was the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirke, but after that the writers were faced with the task of writing unique material that would meet the given quality standard.

Whether they will make it or not will be known in a few months.
