The next chapter is upon us.

The first season of Rings of Power can be described as one big exposition that introduced viewers to the characters and laid the foundation for the rest of the story.

There’s only a week and a half left until new episodes, so it’s time to refresh your memories.

What was shown

Galadriel succeeded in restoring the old alliance between the Elves and the Númenóreans. Detachments of warriors went to fight the Orcs in the southern lands, but with the breaking of the dam and the eruption of Orodruin they were soon turned into Mordor.

Galadriel, deceived by Adar, returned to Eregion, where it was discovered that Sauron was hiding in the guise of Halbrand.

He attempted to lure the elf to him, but was refused and fled to Mount Doom.

Prince Khazad-dum Durin IV revealed to his friend Elrond the secret of the dwarves, who discovered in the depths of the mountain a very light and durable metal called mithril.

The heroes dug deeper and deeper until they found a vein that led deep into a mountain cleft and awakened the Balrog.

The Stranger who fell from the sky regained his staff and made it clear to the mysterious trio of Mystics that he was not Sauron at all, but an Istari. Together with Nori, he went east to the land of Runes to find his true essence.

Meanwhile, Celebrimbor forged three Rings of Power: Narya, Nenya, and Vilya, which symbolize fire, water, and air.

What will they show

Sauron will appear in the form of Annatar, the Lord of Gifts. He will come to Eregion to gain the trust of the Elves and convince Celebrimbor to forge other rings – nine for Men and seven for Dwarves.

This does not count the ring of power itself.

The focus will shift from Galadriel, as in the next episodes the villain will manipulate Celebrimbor’s consciousness.

After the death of the king of Tar-Palantir, power would pass to his daughter Miriel, but a distant relative, Pharazôn, would likely attempt to seize power by forcibly marrying the heroine.
