The makers got carried away by the budget.
A film’s high budget is no guarantee of its coolness. Here are three new movies that weren’t worth the money at all. They were hard, boring, and embarrassing to watch.
“Varyag”, 2022
The film tells the story of King Orvandil’s son, Prince Amleth, who seeks revenge for having his parents taken away from him, and his entire kingdom. Filming cost $90,000,000, while the film’s total gross was $69,633,110. And the film was definitely not worth the money – for two and a half hours, three and a half people ran through the mud between three houses and four hills. All this accompanied by constant crying, muttering, wheezing and drumming.
“The Matrix: Resurrection”, 2021

The final installment of The Matrix was the most expensive in the franchise – the budget was $190,000,000. And in fact, it is completely unclear why. In fact, most of the film was shot in a small office space. Although the budgets of the prequels ranged from $63,000,000 to $150,000,000, they looked much more epic.
“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, 2021

It is far from Marvel’s most successful film, with a budget of $150,000,000. The plot revolves around a young man from America who works in a hotel parking lot. One day, people from his dark past find him and he has to travel to China to deal with his powerful father and the Ten Rings. The film can be praised for its beautiful visuals, but the story is terribly dull. There is a feeling that the project has been handled carelessly in some way.
