It seems that what is needed for successful animation: bright drawings, dynamic editing and more children’s jokes. However, the development of technology has played into the hands of filmmakers and made their lives more difficult.
Nowadays, even the youngest viewers can spot technical errors, script errors and simply stupid film mistakes made by the creators. This also applies to “Three Heroes on Distant Shores”:
Many Russians are mistaken when they think that making cartoons is an easy job. Especially when it comes to a super successful franchise. Although the new adventures of the heroes consistently lost quality every year, the creators persistently filled the works with many references and interesting details.
For example, Baba Yaga’s pincushion and abacus with small skulls, shooting bags in the market, red and white boundary markers. Here and there in the dialogues there were phrases hinting at the erudition of Julius, and the mental abilities of Kolyvan, and the cunning of the boyars. Eagle-eyed viewers also spotted the hapless Pecheneg running in the background with a bucket on his head.
While the attention to detail is commendable, there’s no denying that there are plenty of movie blunders. Then in an instant the appearance of the characters underwent changes: Baba Yaga’s birthmark jumped from the left side of the face to the right. Then objects changed shape in a split second: a broom turned from one to the other. Then things appeared out of nowhere: the empty plate in front of Kolyvan was filled with food.
For fans of the franchise, counting such missteps became entertainment, which still did not prevent the next installment from grossing more than $ 30 million at the box office.
