Vitsin never wanted to become an actor: from childhood he saw his calling in this profession

Georgy Vitsin, known to many as the coward in Leonid Gaidai’s films, never wanted to be famous and successful. He didn’t see himself acting and believed his calling was completely different. Many would consider the profession chosen in childhood as feminine.

In an interview with journalists, the legend of Soviet cinema once said that he was annoyed by the fame that fell on him. He preferred to remain invisible, walking quietly through the streets and not communicating with strangers who asked for an autograph. Vitsin considered modesty the main adornment of a person.

I chose my profession when I was a boy during my school days. He dreamed of caring for blooming gardens, watering roses and pruning peonies.

“As a child, I only dreamed of becoming a gardener. I have always loved vegetation. I loved roses, grass and trees. I have always wanted to be in contact with nature.

It was in the drama club that they noticed the talent of the future great artist. He starred in a huge number of films, but it was the role of the coward in the films “Moonshiners”, “Operation Y and Shurik’s Other Adventures” and “Prisoner of the Caucasus, or Shurik’s New Adventures” that brought him all-Union fame .

By the way, Vitsin did not drink or smoke, practiced yoga and looked much younger than his age. At the age of 37, he did an excellent job with the role of 18-year-old Vasya in “Replacement Player”, and at the age of 46 he played 25-year-old Balzaminov.
