Jada Pinkett Smith reveals she and Will Smith will remain “together forever” despite their split

Jada Pinkett Smith52, called e Will Smith55, “they are together” despite being separated, in a new episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. The actress was promoting her new memoir, Precious, when she talked about her marriage to the actor, which began in 1997, and other intimate details of her life. The couple separated in 2016 but still remain together.

“I have a feeling that maybe your shadow and his have separated in some way in this book, whether they’re together forever or not,” the host introduces. Drew Barrymore Jada said during the interview. “It looks like you two will be together forever.”

“We will be together forever,” he replied, referring to the Men in black star. “I tried. We tried.”

Jada’s latest comments about her and Will come after she shocked the world by revealing they had been separated for seven years in an interview with TODAY in October. “By the time we got to 2016, we were exhausted from trying so hard,” he admitted at the time. “I think we were both still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

In a follow-up interview with PEOPLE, Jada further explained that she and Will were still “figuring things out” and “working” together. “We worked very hard together,” she said Screams 2 said the star. “We love each other deeply and we will find out what this means for us.”

She also revealed that she was struggling with suicidal thoughts before she and Will, with whom she shares a son. Jaden25 and daughter Willow, 23, began a romantic relationship and their bond helped her get through the tough times. She also stopped taking the drug Prozac. “As soon as I met Will, I completely abandoned my mental health,” she confessed. “I was so intoxicated by him and our dynamic. I really felt like I was healed. It has become the drug.”
