Rachel Bilson shares her reaction to the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike

Rachel Bilson He’s excited to get back to work, Dixie Hart former student, 42, said exclusively Hollywood life while promoting his collaboration with Rachael Ray’s Nutrish. Now that SAG-AFTRA has reached a tentative agreement with AMPTP after the 118-day strike, Rachel recalled the moment she found out the big news.

“I received a lot of text messages. “It happened during my daughter’s gym class and my phone started blowing up,” she explained. “But the best thing was that my mom, a few hours later, sent me a text message: ‘Darling, the strike is over.’ ‘Yes Mom. I am aware.’ This [was] very nice, and everyone was celebrating and very excited. And I’m very happy about it.”

Union members were unable to promote or return to work on film productions with striking companies, some of which included Disney, Netflix, Amazon, and many other major film studios. SAG-AFTRA and the WGA went on strike earlier this summer after raising concerns at AMPTP about waste, fair wages and the use of artificial intelligence. Now that film and TV productions are likely to resume, Rachel revealed she has “a few” films to produce and star in “that were on the table before the strike.”

When asked what she would like to see improved in the world of entertainment, Rachel noted that the strikes have raised “important questions” about the future of Hollywood and that she is “a big fan of inclusivity.”

In addition to her career in front of the camera, Rachel is also passionate about animal adoption, which is why she partnered with Nutrish. Rachel also joined Nutrish at the Pasadena Humane Society for a “Dog Day of Service” where they donated 30,000 pounds of food and $10,000 while on site.

Despite being attacked by a dog when she was just 3 years old, Rachel told Hollywood Life that standing up for animals is “in.” [her] DNA.”

“My whole life, we always… adopted dogs when I was a kid. “I have always loved animals,” Rachel explained. “And my mother was also a big believer in adopting and helping animals in need. So, from a young age it was something I did, even though when I was 3 I was attacked by a dog. But I’m still a big fan of dogs and love them very much. So that didn’t even stop me. So I think it’s really in my DNA.”
