Marlon Wayans has revealed that his oldest child, a son named Kai, is transgender.
The 51-year-old “White Chicks” actor opened up about the transition on the radio show “The Breakfast Club,” where he opened up about his son’s gender identity.
The Scary Movie actor was discussing a future stand-up show with the working titles Rainbow Child of Skittles when he revealed Kai’s gender transition.
He told The Breakfast Club: “I have a daughter who has turned into a boy.” “My daughter Amai is now called Kai, and that’s how I talk about the transition.”
“Not her…her transition, but my transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance.”

In an interview with the New York radio station, Wayans said he hopes the potential upcoming comedy routine will help other parents whose children are transitioning.
He added: “I think there are a lot of parents who need that message and I know I can relate.”
“It was a very painful situation for me, but man, it’s one of the best hours I can ever imagine.”
The comedian has two children with his ex-partner Angela Zackery: Kai (23) and Shawn (21).
Wayans admitted that while he sometimes gets a pronoun wrong, he fully supports his son Kai every step of the way.
During the conversation, the Little Man actor gets confused with the pronouns, and often switches between he and she – something he needs to work on.
He explained: “You know. They know I love them. They see me trying to say, ‘I’m happy,'” Wayans said.
The screenwriter revealed that any ignorance he ever had about the transgender community was quickly destroyed when his son admitted he was transgender.
Continuing his sentiments, Wayans revealed that he will always accept his oldest son and love him unconditionally for who he is.

He said passionately: “I have to respect their wishes and as a parent I just want my children to be free – free of thoughts, free of thoughts, free to be themselves.”

Speaking to DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Lauren LaRosa, the comedian added: “If they can’t do it in a household with their mom and dad, how the hell am I going to send them into the world with that? “rely?”
“I’m just so proud of them for being them, but that doesn’t mean I can’t joke.”
The actor revealed that Kai has no qualms about the jokes he tells in the upcoming sketch and joked that the show will be more meaningful than a few laughs.
Wayans played Rainbow Child in front of a room full of military generals, world leaders and government officials.
Even though it was scary at first to tell jokes about his child in a room full of influential people, the comedian persevered because the sketch represented him: progress, his children and comedy.
He recalled his internal monologue in which he said, “All the world leaders at this summit, I want you to think about these people and this synapse and how we can engage this next generation.”
“I see a lot of gray hair here, but the kids we’re dealing with are different.”
He added: “We cannot stick to our old ways of doing things and expect new things, so please accept the new.”
Viewers were touched by Wayans’ openness and unconditional love for his child and praised him on social media.
Viewers expressed their admiration for X, formerly known as Twitter, for radiating nothing but unconditional love to his sons.
