EXCLUSIVE: Sex education star Jemima Kirke says marriage is “less permanent” than a TATTOO – and admits she’s willing to “wait” for love and avoid apps after splitting from second husband Alex Cameron

Sex education actress Jemima Kirke has compared marriage to a tattoo, claiming it is not “permanent”.

The twice-married actress, who gained fame for her iconic role as Jessa Johansson in Lena Dunham’s hit TV series Girls, also admitted she would opt for a shotgun wedding if she said “I do” for the third time. .

Jemima (38) divorced her second husband, Alex Cameron (33), earlier this year. She was previously married to attorney Michael Mosberg from 2009 to 2017.

She told DailyMail.com exclusively at the Glamor Women of the Year 2023 event: “I think shoot weddings are always a good idea anyway because they’re reversible.”

“It’s not a child, you’re not having a baby, you’re having a wedding!” The tradition has already been corrupted, so it’s good, it’s just a big festival and it’s fun, it’s like getting a tattoo, but even less permanent!’

When asked if she would find love again in the future, Jemima revealed that she is “willing to wait” until she meets someone in real life rather than using dating apps like Tinder or Hinge.

“I know it’s really hard not to meet on shows and the world has changed, but if it could happen organically, that would be great, wouldn’t it?” she said before adding: “Me, I’m willing to wait for it!”

Jemima was born in London but grew up in New York and says being British in the Big Apple has its advantages thanks to the way she speaks.

“Well, you have one because you have the accent,” she said. “It’s sexy and intriguing, men love it, people love it.”

But she added: “In New York everyone is busy, busy, busy and completely overwhelmed, has too much to do and has a nervous breakdown.”

Jemima currently lives in Brooklyn with her two children, daughter Rafella (13) and son Memphis (10), whom she shares with her first husband.

While filming the first season of Girls, Jemima also became a mother at the age of 26.
