The current season of “The Block” is making headlines due to the rising tension between the contestants.
And now it has been revealed that the controversial show’s finale has reportedly been changed due to bullying complaints.
According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the show had a more dramatic ending, but Channel Nine decided to change it at the last minute.
“This is not how the series was originally supposed to end… Major changes were made to protect the brand,” an insider told the publication.
The changes meant that some contestants were not introduced as much as others in the final episodes and there was “no good, overarching storyline”.

“It’s confusing for viewers because the fan favorites are acting strange now,” the source added.
It comes after it was revealed that the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has been inundated with complaints about the current season of The Block.
In just one week, ACMA registered a total of 28 complaints.
An ACMA spokesperson told The Australian earlier this month: “Most investigations involved allegations of bullying, intimidation and the promotion of anti-social behavior between participants.”

However, Nine’s television director Michael Healy made no apologies for this approach and says this season’s viewing figures speak for themselves.
“The Block is an unparalleled powerhouse in Australian television. The fact that more than 40% of the country tuned in to this series is a phenomenal achievement.”
“We never take our viewers’ loyalty for granted and look forward to building the current season to an incredible crescendo before an unprecedented 20th season in 2024.”
