Jacques O’Neill said he was “absolutely devastated” by the death of his uncle Russ.
The 23-year-old Love Island star took to his Instagram on Tuesday to confirm the death of his family member.
The former rugby player shared several snaps of his uncle and wrote a heartfelt message in memory of Russ.
He said: “RIP Uncle Russ. Absolutely devastated @shocked you will be greatly missed by all the family [heart emoji].’
It’s been a rough few weeks for Jacques, who last made headlines after another Love Islander, Rami Lambert, claimed Jacques’ boyfriend hit him at the end of a night out.

Jacques took to his Instagram story to “edit” Remi’s account, saying he had never followed him and that the incident happened just 30 meters from the club.
He added that he was “not physically involved in anything” but simply tried to stop the pair from fighting – as he accused Remi of “smearing” his name.
Remi claimed he was tricked and beaten by a friend of fellow player Jacques while he was looking for witnesses.
The 23-year-old rapper, who starred in the ITV2 show last summer, said he was walking home from a nightclub at the weekend when Jacques followed him.
He claims ex-rugby player Jacques fell out with him over a disagreement stemming from their time on Love Island.
It was then claimed that Remi was hit by an unnamed friend of Jacques.
Jacques now responded by saying: “I’m adjusting the draw story to the truth, don’t worry now, just what everyone wants to hear.
“We start with the big lie that haunts him at home, I can’t believe he even said it but I understand why because it sounds bad and everyone immediately starts thinking it definitely didn’t happen, it’s disgusting etc .But it was actually 30 meters from the club…

“I didn’t start an argument, I wanted answers from him because one night on Instagram I got a voice memo from a boy saying he was talking to Remi and he told people he was the ass I wasn’t going to kick out when he saw me so I was just wondering if he wanted it or not so I could explain that it wasn’t about the Love Island beef at all . . .
Says I can’t go on but he’s the one dragging my name on social media/podcasts since I left the villa and even tried to make diss tracks about me which is pretty much all I do let it get away with it because he was quite shy. ..
“Finally, to clarify I wasn’t physically involved in anything that happened, all I did was jump in the middle and not let both guys fight… I tried to make it a lot worse make it look like it is and do my best to dirty it AGAIN my name, that’s the real story – cheers.
