Taylor Swift I’ve given your fans exactly what they want the ages tour and outdid herself in Tampa on Friday night. She not only sang her song “The Great War” from her latest album midnight for the first time in concert, but he did so with the help of his regular collaborator by his side. “He’s so incredibly brilliant, we’ve made so much music together over the years, and we’re so lucky tonight in Tampa Bay, Florida because Aaron Dessner is here!” Taylor announced it to the public, as seen in the clip above. When it took Aaron a few moments to walk across the giant stage to meet Taylor, he told the crowd to keep cheering. “It’s a long walk, you have to keep going,” he joked.
Right after the incredible performance, Aaron would take it to Twitter to share their excitement about it, and even mentioned another Taylor song. In a fan post of the tweet reported by Aaron, the message read: “Playing the Great War for the first time in Tampa…Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined performing a song for 80,000 people on guitar with @taylorswift” .

Along with the surprise duo, Taylor announced a rule change that mandated he never play the same song twice on his acoustic leg of the Eras tour. “Basically, when I started touring, I said, ‘In the acoustic section, I’m never going to repeat a song. I never do songs more than once,’” Taylor told the crowd in Tampa, second just stirred. “But now I’m like, ‘Ugh, there are so many songs I want to do more than once. So, I give a little caveat to the rule, which is if [a song] You are connected midnightI can do it as many times as I want because midnight It’s, like, the most accurate picture of my life to date,” Taylor added.
Rule May Go Into Effect Immediately, Since Taylor Hasn’t Just Released ‘The Great War’ midnight, but also wowed the crowd with a rendition of “You’re On Your Own, Kid.” Since fans probably want Taylor to play these songs over and over again, the rule change was much needed and very welcome.
Her fans are likely to continue sending love and support to the Grammy winner after it was reported that she split from her longtime boyfriend. Joe Alwyn just a week ago, while joking to audiences on the first night of the Tampa shows, “We’ve got a lot to catch up on.”
