Speaking on Thursday’s episode of Lorraine, Clive told Christine Lampard: “It’s a tough time for Amanda right now and I think that’s only right because I’m not on social media to speak out.
“We did Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and it was a chance to do something as a family. That’s what drove her. It was great and very successful, but I handled it very badly.
“It was such a change in our lives and unfortunately I messed it up. I played a big part in ending the relationship.

A big role to play. I scolded and scolded and drank and scolded. I don’t know – jealousy.”
He added: “It seemed to eat away at me and I handled it badly and misbehaved with her. I should have supported… It was really upsetting, Amanda is having a hard time now.
“I just feel like I can’t sit back. I have to say something in her defense, she is a remarkable woman. We just got to the point where we couldn’t be together anymore.’
“We were under pressure, it’s crazy and it makes you look at life less.
“It got to a point where we didn’t get along at all, then we broke up. It’s very sad, but that’s how it is.
“We do business together and farm together, so we spend a lot of time together.
“The kids are great, and probably because of her. So we work together, take care of the kids together, she feeds us all and I really think the kids are great and okay. And there are so many.’
“I don’t intend to do anything, but you never know. And the same goes for Amanda, she is busy writing. I want people to leave her alone. She is a wonderful woman.”

Open: The Our Yorkshire Farm star admitted he played a big part in his split from the TV star last year, days after it was revealed Amanda was having an affair

Difficult: Speaking on Thursday’s Lorraine episode, Clive told Christine Lampard: ‘I swore and swore and drank and moved on. I don’t know – jealousy’
Amanda reportedly had a five-year relationship with 71-year-old businessman Robert Davies, although she portrayed the image of a devoted wife to now-estranged husband Clive on screen.
Insiders say the father of 11, who had nine children with Amanda, had to put up with rumors about their affairs for years – and now accepts that their 23-year marriage is over.
“People may have worried about him because he had a hard time when they broke up, but he’s moved on now,” said a friend.
They continued, “Over the years he had to endure rumors of affairs that Amanda allegedly had. Whether they were true or not, he had to live with them.
“It didn’t break her up, but it prepared him for the day she found someone new. It wasn’t such a shock that she broke up with someone and it certainly didn’t cause any sadness.
The source added that their lives are “entwined” as they run a farm together, explaining that Clive and Amanda “can’t get away from each other”.
They continued, “Clive has been so loyal to her for so long but he’s reached the end of the road and now wants to get on with his life. He’s not dating anyone himself but he’s a popular and popular man in the Dales and life is again full of opportunities.”

Amanda’s relationship with web designer Robert upset his wife Yasumi Davies (56), to whom he has been married for 12 years.
She found out about their relationship a year ago after finding a love letter from Amanda in Robert’s car.

Former banker Yasumi left Tokyo to marry Robert in North Yorkshire in 2011, becoming his fifth wife.
But with their marriage in tatters, she said: “He called Amanda in front of me and told her I knew about their affair and it was over. He said they had a relationship for several years.
“But instead of acknowledging the pain I suffered, he was more concerned about protecting her TV career.”
Amanda and Robert have known each other for at least five years since she and Clive recruited him to update their personal website in 2018. Their friendship apparently blossomed by working closely together.
The source close to Yasumi said: “Yasumi had suspected Robert was up to something for some time. She felt that he was not really with her and that his mind was elsewhere.
“She cleaned the car and found a handwritten note. There was no name, but it was pretty clear who owned it.
Yasumi asked Rob for an explanation and he said he fell in love with Amanda and they have been seeing each other for five years.
After the affair came to light, Amanda revealed that she had taken a break from social media after being criticized for “living a double life” over her relationship scandal.
Amanda and Clive confirmed their split in a joint statement last year.
They said: “Clive and I regret to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to part ways. It wasn’t easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for our family’s future.
“Although we are no longer a couple, we will continue to work together on the farm and co-parent, with the happiness and well-being of our children being our number one priority.”
Since their split, Clive has returned to television with his new series Beyond The Yorkshire Farm, in which he stars alongside his son Reuben.
Amanda Owen and her ex-husband Clive have become familiar faces thanks to Our Yorkshire Farm.
But not only the parents of nine children were popular with the local audience, because for many their children – between the ages of 21 and six – turned out to be the real stars of the show.
This was especially true of their eldest son, Reuben, who so wowed viewers with his farming expertise that after five seasons he started spinning on Our Yorkshire Farm with dad Clive.
